What will happen after the complimentary consultation?
A facial treatment plan will be established and a dermal filler will be selected that best meets individual concerns. Your medical history will be reviewed. A copy of the plan and instructions will be provided along with an estimated cost of procedure. a prescription will be provided for an antiviral or pain control as needed.
What happens during the treatment?
Your skin will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be reapplied. There can be a bit of discomfort during any injections for wrinkle correction. You can discuss whether you would like pain management during the treatment.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment generally ranges from 30to 90 minutes.
What happens after treatment?
We will review with you what to expect following treatment, and we will send you home with details for aftercare treatment. Generally, you should avoid the following for at least 24 hours: Strenuous exercise, consumption of alcoholic beverages, extended exposure to sun or heat, or manipulating the injection sites.
How long does it last?
Treatment lasts up to 6-24 months, depending on which dermal filler is chosen.
Is the procedure safe?
The most common risks are bruising and swelling which are usually minimal. The bruising and swelling may last up to 2-3 weeks. Other possible side effects have been described and include redness, pain, and itching. While most adverse events resolve over a 2-4 days, some may take up to one year to resolve. Reactivation of Herpes Simplex 1 (Cold Sores/Fever Blisters) may occur near the injection sites causing a outbreak. Patients with a history of cold sores need to be pretreated with an anti-viral medication for prevention.
